Mimi Poon

As a prominent IBM leader, Mimi Poon strives to positively impact business ethics, the environment, and local communities. She is committed to equal learning access and addressing talent shortages and skill gaps. In 2024, she spearheaded efforts to bridge the AI skills gap, introducing IBM’s free education platform, SkillsBuild, in Hong Kong, which offers over 1,000 courses in AI, data science, and cybersecurity. Under Mimi’s leadership, IBM Hong Kong deepened its collaboration with the Vocational Training Council and partnered with the Hong Kong Institute of Information Technology. She mentors at the Hong Kong Computer Society, contributes to advisory committees, and promotes diversity through initiatives like the “Women in Tech” Fireside Chat.
