Hope

We close this year on a heavy note, with the Tai Po inferno still so present in our hearts. We carry sorrow for what happened, yet the silver lining has been witnessing how united Hong Kong is when it matters most — the outpouring of donations, blood, time, and manpower as our city comes together to heal, to support one another, and to rebuild homes. The road ahead will not be easy, but I believe deeply in the strength and resilience of the people of Hong Kong.

An Encounter with Angelica Visconti

This December also welcomed Business of Design Week in Hong Kong, where I had the privilege to meet Angelica Visconti, granddaughter of Salvatore Ferragamo. We shared a candid and open conversation about brand values and brand vision. Angelica spent several years in Shanghai and the mainland market at the turn of this century — a period that required both vision and courageous curiosity. We discussed what allows Ferragamo to succeed as a global brand while remaining authentic to its roots as an Italian family business. Much of this resonates strongly with the JESSICA brand — understanding where we come from, staying true to our heritage, and defining clearly where we want to go, with an unwavering and authentic voice for women.

Women's Communities & JES Network 2026

2026 marks the beginning of the next quarter-century for JESSICA. The last 25 years have been a rollercoaster journey, and as we enter this new chapter, I am more focused than ever on our role and voice in women's empowerment — in building our own community while collaborating actively with other women's networks. There is no mutual exclusivity in women coming together. We lift each other, enable each other, and grow together to drive a continued shift in the visibility, influence, and leadership of women today and for generations ahead.

As President-Elect of the International Women's Forum Hong Kong, Founding Chair of The Mulan, and a Founding Member of the Hong Kong Red Cross EmpowerHer Network, I see an exponentially expanding horizon of opportunities — each community contributing within its own domain, yet all connected by a shared mission. The JES Network will continue to focus its energy on bringing together like-minded entrepreneurs and professionals, supporting one another, and exploring collaborative strength across Hong Kong and the Greater Bay Area, across geographic regions, industries, and expertise. I know no better platform that so authentically promotes and tells the stories of women — their careers, their contributions to society, and their genuine voices.

A big shout-out to our Most Successful Women honorees, Grace Chan and Vivian Kong, on being elected as incumbent Members of the Legislative Council of Hong Kong. I am so proud of you both, and I know the passion and expertise you will bring to the legislature. Congratulations as well to our friend Nixie Lam for her continued work in providing a strong voice for the women of Hong Kong.

I cannot stress enough the importance of community — now more than ever.

Here's to 2026: new hope, a new start, and a renewed commitment to each other.
